| Maya Sarkisyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia and started photography at the age of 16. Lived in Yerevan and Moscow before immigrating to USA. Did some photojournalistic work in B&W during events of Perestroika, most of them were gone during her immigration process. After moving to NYC started experimenting with color photography using OlympusIS-30 and Canon A2E. Participated in Canon Mastership program and got the 2nd place - won Canon lens. Few years ago gradually moved to digital photography - Canon G2, and currently Canon Digital Rebel. Participated in Agfa contest and got the 3rd place - won photo camera. Recently participated in International Photo Convention in Washington DC - presented her portfolio to various known and famous photographers. They agreed that her works are definitely worth to present to public and galleries widely and start getting more recognition. Maya's work with Adobe Photoshop in order to create unusual effects. Now she switched to digital photography completely. Photography is definitely Maya's strongest passion and self-realization. Maya wants people in the world to see the beauty of places that soon will disappear due to environmental and industrial development, beauty of animals and insects that are rare, beauty of people in everyday life. Just to stop for a moment and absorb it. Most of Maya's selected portraits are women - different generations and cultures - same immortal beauty. Her other interests include Computer Programming - as her regular job and lifetime hobby, fitness - Certified Fitness Instructor, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) - Certified NLP Practitioner, dancing, travel, etc. The biggest job is taking care of her 5 year old son :-) It is hard now to define all of Maya's lifetime goals, and they also include creating a new style of fitness with NLP techniques and photography in order to make people (women specifically) more happy and defined in they everyday life. | |||||||||||||||||
